MobilePro Corp. announced today that it will host a ribbon-cutting
ceremony with the City of Sacramento officially "cutting the wire" for the
MobilePro wireless pilot network.

The event will be held at Cesar Chavez Plaza on Tuesday, April 4, at
9:30 a.m. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will showcase a live demonstration of
the network's ability to provide outdoor public Wi-Fi Internet access and
real-time video applications in Caesar Chavez Plaza Park.
Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo said, "The City of Sacramento is looking
forward to offering this pilot program to our residents, students, visitors
and businesses. This will give them the ability to access the Internet from
Cesar Chavez Plaza."
MobilePro Chairman and CEO Jay Wright said, "We have made significant
progress with the pilot network. Upon completion of the pilot, we expect to
expand the network throughout Sacramento and its suburban areas."
A selection committee for the City of Sacramento chose MobilePro to
design, deploy and operate a metro-wide wireless network, pending final review
and approval by the Sacramento City Council.
The proposed network will initially cover Sacramento's downtown, Old Town
and state capital areas, about 10 square miles, and will grow to cover other
areas of the city in future phases. Wireless Internet access will be available
in these areas on a fixed and mobile basis, to residents, businesses, students
and visitors.
The multi-spectrum Wi-Fi, multi-radio mesh network will enable a range of
free and fee-based services and provide secure high-speed access to data,
voice and video throughout the proposed coverage area. Subscription services
will be offered on an annual, monthly, daily and hourly basis and will allow
access to multiple Internet service providers (ISP).
