Outblaze Unveils AJAX Webmail Outblaze Ltd., a global provider of
hosted email services, today announced the release of its new AJAX-based
webmail service. "Outblaze AJAX Webmail" is the latest modular component in
a suite of managed messaging services that Outblaze operates for internet
service providers, registrars, web hosting companies, educational
institutions, portals, and others.
AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) is a development technique for
building web applications that mimic the interface and features usually
found only in installed software. Because they deliver sophisticated user
interaction directly from a server rather than via an installed desktop
client, AJAX applications can replicate the traditional software experience
without the need for installation, upgrades, or concerns about
cross-platform compatibility.
Outblaze AJAX Webmail, demonstrated for the first time in May 2006 at
ISPCON in Baltimore, MD, is immediately available to new and existing
Outblaze clients. The service boasts drag-and-drop capability, a preview
pane, auto-complete, message preloading, easy folder manipulation, and
highly intuitive navigation.
"The challenge for providers is how to cost-effectively deliver
next-generation services that ensure continued user loyalty while driving
revenue growth," said Stef Bensi, Managing Director of Outblaze US and
Europe. "Hosting services with Outblaze is the answer to that problem.
Outblaze AJAX Webmail is available for a fraction of the cost required to
implement and maintain similar in-house or licensed solutions."
"The future is clear," noted Yat Siu, Founder and CEO of Outblaze.
"Server-side software will increasingly replace client-side software.
Outblaze has been building on-demand hosted services for many years,
providing clients with the latest technology, ease of adoption, and low
entry costs."
Outblaze customers also benefit from the enhanced user-level spam
controls of Outblaze Sentry Perimeter, which draws on a 117-country network
of more than 75 million mailboxes to provide protection from email viruses
and spam. This global infrastructure provides the Outblaze security team
with an unparalleled view of email threats worldwide, allowing the
isolation of threats in mere moments while maintaining near real-time
delivery of legitimate emails.
